Sally spent 1/8 of her money on comic books and 1/4 of her money on videos. She had $25 left. How much money did Sally have before buying the comic books and videos?

This question still have no answer summary yet.

let her have $ x before spending
x/8 on comics and x/4 on videos
total she spent = x/8 + x/4 = x+2x / 8
=3x / 8
x- 3x/8 = 25
8x-3x / 8 = 25
5x/8 = 25
5x=200
x= 40
She had $ 40
